Here I have listed some of the main reasons why choosing to learn Spanish at home has many benefits. Let’s look at each in turn and see what benefits are associated with each reason:

Reason #1: In a Spanish home study course, you can learn and practice at your own pace.

Benefits: When you attend classes in a Spanish language school (unless, of course, you are paying for private lessons), the pace is set by the teacher, and this may or may not match up with your own most comfortable learning pace. At home, you are usually in a more relaxed setting, and can practice and push yourself at a speed that works best for you.

Reason #2: When you Learn Spanish at home, you can practice repeating a sentence as often as you like.

Benefits: Practicing whole sentences, repeating them often, and learning them by heart, is one of the best and fastest ways to learn a new Language. If you put your Spanish course onto your mp3 player, you can go over a sentence as often as you like (which you can’t do in a school). In addition, once you can repeat the sentence by heart, you can try saying it along simultaneously with the recording. This is a great way to both focus on matching the pronunciation of the native speaker, and also to get used to speaking and understanding at the normal conversational speed for Spanish.

Reason #3: Studying Spanish at home is usually a lot cheaper than taking lessons at a recognized school.

Benefits: Studying Spanish at a good recognized school can be quite pricey. In addition, you usually have the additional costs of traveling back and forth to the school. In comparison, and mp3 course which you can download from the internet, will usually end up being a lot cheaper.
